TIMELY NOTES!
Lean not on your own understanding; it’s too dangerous! Samson thought that the source of his strength was his hair; yet, the bible acknowledges the Spirit of the Lord as the source. Eve was deceived into believing that the source of intelligence was the forbidden fruit; yet, the bible says God breathe His Spirit upon man. Thank God for your gifts and various skills, but they shouldn’t determine the course of your life. Man is too expensive to be maintained or sustained by natural things. Didn’t the bible say “Not by power nor by might, but by the Spirit”?
God may have given Samson unusual gifts, but each time he battled, the bible says “The Spirit of the Lord came upon him”. This was the same Spirit that was with man until Genesis chapter 6:3 where God removed it and reduced the lifespan of man to 120 years. If Eve knew this, she wouldn’t have submitted to Satan’s deceit. If Samson knew that the source of his strength was the Spirit of God, they wouldn’t have caught him. They may have cut off his hair, but they would have been helpless facing the Spirit of the Lord. We later saw how he called upon God to strengthen him in order to destroy all those who held him captive. And God did it. In fact, the bible records that he defeated more people at his death than in all the battles he fought while he was alive.
That’s how far we’d go on today’s Timely Note. But take these last words; NO MATTER WHAT YOU KNOW OR HAVE, YOU’RE STILL LIMITED WITHOUT GOD. THAT’S WHY HE SAID YOU SHOULD TRUST IN HIM, AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING. Have a most fruitful day, in Jesus precious name!
And hey, don’t forget to “like” it. And if you really like it, please share it!
