TIMELY NOTES!
Jesus wants us to be free. “Ladies, don’t wear trousers”, “Guys, don’t make your hair”, “Don’t wear ear rings”, “Don’t wear necklaces”, “Don’t watch Television”, don’t do this, and don’t do that; all these are not the style of Jesus. The bible says “Whosoever the son of man sets free is free indeed”; not just free from the devil, but also free from mindsets and mental slavery. Many of us over exaggerate corrections; we want people to stop doing things we’ve stopped doing. When did you become the Holy Spirit? It’s okay to mention your points if you have scriptures to back it up, but if you don’t, hold your peace. Sometimes, what the Holy Spirit says to you may be for you alone. Teach people how to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and you’d be amazed how their lives will be transformed.
Let people come to church the way they are. Anytime we tell people not to do something because we “think” it is wrong, we unknowingly destroy a possibility or a potential that could lead to a major breakthrough in that person’s life. For instance, the Holy Spirit personally gave me reasons why I should stop listening to secular songs. And while He was telling me that, He didn’t say it was for everybody. As I grew, I began to understand the benefits of not listening to secular songs; and those benefits may not even be needed by another believer. This is not an excuse to be carnal; I’m just trying to show us that in our freedom lurks possibilities that only our personal experiences can bring. So the next time someone tells you to stop doing something, ask them “Why”. And if their response has no connection with God, then you should pray about it before you make a decision.
That’s how far we’d go on today’s Timely Note. But take these last words; GIVE PROMPTED COUNSEL, NOT WHAT YOU THINK. GOD WIRED US DIFFERENTLY. WHAT WORKS FOR YOU MAY DESTROY SOMEONE ELSE. IT’S ALMOST LIKE SAYING “ONE MAN’S FOOD IS ANOTHER MAN’S POISON”. Have a most fruitful week, in Jesus precious name!
