HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME… But, let me share a secret that will change your life forever…

I’m sure by now you already know that it’s impossible to please God without faith. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”.

Faith is the name of the action birthed from your convictions about God. It is trusting God to do what He says He will do. And yes, God will do what He says if you trust Him.

But beyond trusting God, have you ever considered the fact that God is also looking for men He can trust? We easily trust God because He’s faithful, but are we faithful enough for God to trust us? It’s one thing to have faith in God, but an entirely different thing for God to have faith in us.

Proverbs 20:6 says, “Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?”. God probably has no issue finding a man of faith, but clearly from that scripture, finding a faithful man is a scarce thing.

Can God trust you? If God gives you an assignment, can He trust you to always execute it – even in hard times, and still protect His interests? That’s right! Faithfulness demands that you serve both the purposes and interests of God. Many people serve God’s purposes but do not protect His interests in certain areas.

Pastor E. A Adeboye once shared an experience on how He had just returned from a missionary trip. His family welcomed him back home and told him that dinner was ready. His response was that he was tired and went straight to bed. Moments later, there was a loud noise coming from the sitting room. When he rushed to see what was happening, someone had died. As he attempted to pray for the person, he received the greatest lesson of his life. God told him that he caused the death of that person when he painted Him as a user before his family. God expected him to still have time for his family even after serving Him. Refusing to have dinner probably began to paint pictures of an unjust God in the minds of his family members, and clearly, God didn’t want that. As soon as Papa Adeboye realized that, the dead person woke up by himself, without prayers.

Bishop David Oyedepo shared a story of how he had been on a dry fast and had to preach a particular sermon even while he was on the fast. As he preached, he began to cough profusely. According to him, he was literally coughing out blood. That would have been a perfect excuse to rest, but he insisted that even if it would be his last sermon before he dies, he was going to preach it. Faithfulness!!!

With faith, you only need to trust God. With faithfulness, God trusts you to do His will even when it is not convenient. I write daily, that’s the assignment that God entrusted into my hands. But I’ve had several down times, times when I’d have to endure severe health situations and write. I remember one time when my head would begin to ache whenever I looked at any bright light, which meant that I couldn’t use my phone or my PC. Even with recommended glasses, I couldn’t open my eyes to bright light for long. It was a terrible experience for me. Yet, in that pain, I’d ask God what He needed me to write to His people, and while you’d think that God will tell me to rest, He’d actually give me inspiration to write😭. You’d also think that as He gave the inspiration, He’d heal me so that I can write, but no, I wrote in pain many times. And that’s because I’ve realized that my health cannot be an excuse for not serving God’s purpose.

Imagine for a moment that I didn’t write to you just because I wasn’t feeling well, what would you think about God? “Can’t God heal His messenger?”, “Why is God so difficult to understand?”, those are probably the kind of thoughts that would begin to run through your mind. If that happens, then I didn’t protect God’s interest. I may be serving purpose, but I didn’t protect His interests. Faithfulness isn’t just about serving purpose, it’s more about doing it even when it’s not convenient.

If all you want is to have faith in God, that’s fine. But if you want God to use you, then you have to prove to Him that He can trust you. And if God can trust you, your life will be full of wonders without end. Today, we enjoy, mostly because we endured hardness.

Let me show you a few scriptures:

SCRIPTURE 1:

Proverbs 25:
13 As cold water is in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.

So faithfulness towards God can literally refresh His heart. God is always pleased with faithful people.

SCRIPTURE 2:

Luke 16:
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

Matthew 25:
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

I’m sure you remember the parable of the talents, the servant that was given one talent was unfaithful with the little that was given to him. If only he knew that faithfulness in little was the gateway to much. If you’re not faithful in the little assignment that God gave to you, you’d never be faithful in much, so don’t bother praying for much. God tests our ability to do much by our faithfulness in handling little. Knowing this, I don’t need to pray for a million people to read my articles, I just need to be faithful in the one He has already given. As long as I’m faithful, it’s only a matter of time before I get a million readers daily.

Ask fathers like Bishop David Oyedepo and Papa E. A Adeboye, they’d tell you that it’s not prayer that brings increase, it is faithfulness. Also, praying to have what they have would be a waste of time if you won’t be as faithful as they are. I receive messages from people requesting to teach them how to run a page like mine, the truth is, it’s beyond running a page, what you see is a result of faithfulness to God’s command.

SCRIPTURE 3:

Numbers 12:
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

Just look at that! Faithful people enjoy special privileges from God.

SCRIPTURE 4:

Psalm 101:
6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

Faithful people always enjoy God’s presence. They literally live with God.

SCRIPTURE 5:

Proverbs 13:
17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.

I love this one; the health of the kingdom lies with the faithful. Imagine what Christianity would have become if not for faithful men.

As I conclude, stop making excuses for not being able to do the things God assigned you to do. Beyond having faith in God for things, God also wants to enthrust certain things to you. But He can’t do that without your faithfulness to Him.
