“Pastor, I do everything a Christian should do to remain on fire, but I keep getting demonic attacks. What else can I do?”
Let me guess, you’ve prayed, fasted, declared the word of God regarding your situation, acted in faith severally, yet it feels like all your efforts are in vain.
The truth is, redemption didn’t really exempt us from getting oppositions, it only guarantees us victory – if we fight the good fight of faith. The bible speaks of a great door that is opened unto us, yet there are many adversaries that won’t let us pass through so easily.
Whether the demonic attack is because of an altar that was raised before you became born again or just a regular attack to frighten you, the response is the same, fight the good fight of faith!
Some people behave as though Jesus needs to die again and shed a fresh blood to resolve their problems. They feel their case is so peculiar that only a fresh blood can resolve it. Well here’s a shocker, Hebrews 10:26 says “there is no more sacrifice for sin”. Consequently, that leaves you with one option, fight the good fight of faith.
Just because you had demonic attacks doesn’t mean your life would be influenced by them. The only way demonic attacks can influence your life is if you express fear because of the attack. The Psalmist says, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for God is with me”. That’s the mindset you should maintain despite attacks. Remember that Job feared, and what he feared came upon him. You’re in a battle which Christ has already guaranteed you victory, you just need to fight the good fight of faith.
Speaking of fighting the good fight of faith, 1 Timothy 6:12 says, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life…”. We understand from scriptures that we received eternal life the moment we believed and received Jesus as Lord and Saviour. However, according to that scripture, we cannot manifest eternal life without fighting the good fight of faith.
We have eternal life, which isn’t necessarily life after death, but abundant life here on earth. Any situation that makes you worry is altering your eternal life. Eternal life was given to us for distinction and to subdue resisting forces against our progress and well-being. Eternal life is the very life that God dominates and live by. It’s a life where God’s word reigns supreme, and God expects us to dominate and live by that life.
Eternal life is a life of dominion, God may have commanded man to have dominion over the earth, but that would be impossible without laying hold on eternal life, a life where you express your faith in God’s word to dominate situations and circumstances.
Eternal life is the cure for fear and confusion. Just when you’re not sure of how your next meal would come, lay hold on eternal life. When your rent is due and you don’t know how to pay the rent, lay hold on eternal life. When you just got married and you remember that no woman has ever had a child in your family due to a curse, lay hold on eternal life. When it’s bed time and you feel that demon would attack again, lay hold on eternal life.
You can’t exercise your dominion without laying hold on eternal life, that life where God’s word is the final authority. The moment you appear by the word of God, even demons should take a bow.
If you’re worried that an evil altar may be responsible for the attacks, then it might interest you to know that you can also use God’s word to dissociate yourself from altars. So search the scriptures till you find your bailout. And while you are at it, don’t accommodate fear.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
