“Pastor, I’ve been dreaming of my sister dying, and even though I pray against it, I still get the same dream. Does it mean God wants her to die?”
No! It simply means you haven’t done what needs to be done to avert that possibility. Remember that when we dream of tragic events, it’s simply God’s way of informing us of an attack that the enemy is planning or an occurrence that our ignorance may trigger in the future.
If it’s an attack from the enemy, then a prayer of faith would stop the attack, but if it’s something that is sponsored by ignorance, then you may need something more than prayer.
Kenneth Hagin once shared a story of how God told him that a certain pastor would soon die, and that the only way to avert that death was if the pastor hids to counsel to stop eating junk foods. This wasn’t an attack from the devil, it was just something ignorance was going to do. Kenneth Hagin delivered the message, but unfortunately, the pastor called it a bluff. It wasn’t long before it was announced that he had died. He was preaching powerfully when he suddenly slumbed. And that was it.
So, what does your sister do for a living? Perhaps there’s something she’s involved in that isn’t clean. Maybe drugs, bad or abusive relationships, or maybe she’s just sick. Yes, she might have a health challenge that she’s hiding from everybody. Funny enough, she may not even be aware that she has a health challenge. Like that pastor, she may love junk food. It could also be that she’s planning on making a trip that she shouldn’t.
Ofcourse, if you make a prayer of enquiry, God can reveal exactly what it is, but if your sister has a non-disclosure agreement with God, then chances are that God would not tell you. This means you’d have to have a deep conversation with your sister to find out exactly what the matter is.
Prayer is powerful, but as powerful as prayer is, it can’t get a person saved without counsel. Prayer can soften the heart of the person, but it may not do the work of counsel. That’s why as much as you pray for your child to know God, ensure you counsel them from time to time by the word of the Lord. If you’re not in a position to counsel them, then pray that God sends them a preacher. Let’s see how scriptures put it:
Romans 10:
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Did you see that? They can’t believe what they’ve not heard, and they can’t hear if there is no preacher, not if there is no prayer.
So, when you keep seeing a particular tragic event even after praying, then it means you need to talk to the person to find out something that needs to be stopped.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
