“Pastor, a man entered my office premises to preach to the people around, I sent him out because it was during work hour and he didn’t even take permission. But I’ve been worried ever since that day. What do I do?”

Well, considering the level of insecurity in the nation today, one can hardly tell what’s genuine these days, except through the Spirit of discernment. We’ve heard tragic stories of criminals who disguised as saints just to penetrate the walls of their targets – who eventually became victims. So, judging from my own point of view, I wouldn’t blame you for what you did.

However, seing that the action troubles your conscience, then that event must have been sponsored by the Spirit of God to elevate your business into the next level. If it was during work hour and he didn’t take permission, then that reveals something Jesus did to give a breakthrough to Simon Peter. Let’s see how scriptures put it:

Luke 5:
1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret
2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Did you see that? Jesus needed to preach the word to people, but that wouldn’t be possible except he used Peter’s boat. It was work hour and Jesus didn’t take permission to use the boat. To make matters worse, after entering the boat without permission, he still requested that Peter should move the boat away from the land a little. He didn’t take permission, yet he was making demands.

Thank God Peter humbled himself, because even though Jesus didn’t take permission for using his boat and his time, He gave him a breakthrough that he had struggled all night to get.

The revelation behind this is that Jesus can actually be a partner in your business if you’d allow Him use your boat to reach out to the lost. And as a partner, you don’t expect Him to say “Please” or even “Thank You”. A partner does what is right for the business and then you’d see the reward of what was done.

Perhaps you’ve been praying to God to give you a business breakthrough – Just like Peter who had toiled all night, so He sent an evangelist to your office to use your boat to save souls. If you had discernment, you probably would have even offered the evangelist a cold glass of water once he was done, and that’s because just like Peter, the next thing that would have happened to your business is a draught.

Now that you know what that event may mean, it’s not too late to make it right. Ensure that your business is partnering with Jesus to see souls saved and established. You can do this either by direct evangelism to workers, or financing kingdom projects. Don’t forget, once Jesus uses your boat, your business will take a new turn.
