TIMELY NOTES!
When it comes to God’s word, even God finds Himself in a tight constraint to reverse what He had said. Solomon really messed things up when he began to love many strange women and worship other gods. He didn’t just marry over 700 wives, he also had 300 concubines. The bible records that God was angry with Solomon, because he turned His heart away from the true God. God decided that He’d take the kingdom away from his genealogy and give it to Solomon’s servant. But before God could complete His verdict, He remembered David. Let’s see how He put it in 1 Kings 11:12-13; “Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son. Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen”.
Just imagine, God had to endure all the atrocities that Solomon committed only because He made a promise to David his father. And even after He had decided to take the kingdom away from Solomon’s genealogy, He still gave part of the kingdom to Solomon’s son, all because of David. God’s word is that shield of faith that Ephesians chapter six spoke about, you can quench all the wickedness of the devil through it. The only reason why you should be worried about a challenge is if God has not said anything about it; but if He has, then no matter what the challenge is, you’d emerge victorious by His word.
That’s how far we’d go on today’s Timely Note. But take these last words; IF GOD HAS EVER TOLD YOU ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND FUTURE, STICK TO WHAT HE SAID, BECAUSE HE DOESN’T GO BACK ON HIS WORDS. Have a most fruitful day, in Jesus precious name!
And hey, don’t forget to “like” it. And if you really like it, please share it!
