Ofcourse, I’d pray for you. But the fact that you’ve prayed about it without positive results brings me some level of concern.
I understand that most believers dread visiting the hospital for matters that concern their health, but as I’d always say, “medical practitioners are God’s fail-safe system to keep His people healthy”. Whether you get well through prayer or the doctor’s prescription, God wants you to be well either way, so that you can fulfill your purpose on earth.
Falling sick doesn’t mean you’re no longer a Christian, it just means you still have alot to learn about divine health. If you faint in the day of trouble, then your strenght is small. If an ailment strikes and gets hold of you, it means you’re still weak spiritually.
Health and finances are two areas the devil capitalizes on. The moment you can gain dominion over him in those areas, then you’re very unlikely to be stagnated in life. It can’t be a coincidence that the average rich man is sick, and the average poor man is healthy. Both of them have something to worry about.
This is why God wishes above all things that we prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper. God could have easily made us prosperous and healthy, but it’s clearly beyond His jurisdiction. If we don’t commit ourselves to the principles that make for prosperity and health, then we’d have to suffer.
For the average person who doesn’t have a history of health conditions, migraines would usually be caused by stress. But if after you’ve rested and the migraine continues, then chances are that your eyes are not processing light properly. And if that’s the case, you might want to see an ophthalmologist. They’d do a test and most likely recommend a temporary eye glass for you. The eye glass is expected to both control the light and correct the situation with the eyes. If you still have a migraine that wasn’t controlled by rest or eye glasses, then you might have an emergency in your hand. SEE A DOCTOR!
Now I’m not saying you should give up on faith; rather, doing all you can to stay healthy for God’s work is true faith. Think about the times you’ve wasted on sick leaves to nurse the migraine that didn’t go. Think about how weak it always made you. Ofcourse, if your faith can hang on till you receive your miracle, please do. But I beg you, ensure you don’t lose your life in the process. Because frankly, many good Christians have lost their lives because of this ignorance in the body of Christ.
I can tell you this because I had medical conditions that I prayed and fasted about for many years. And when it appeared as though my life was on a stand still because of my health, I had to stop praying about it and focused on my assignment. I took medication to mitigate the inconvenience, then I continued building my faith. It’s been years now, and I don’t even know when some of those health challenges disappeared.
That’s the beautiful thing about building your faith instead of dwelling on what is wrong. Use medicine to take care of what is wrong with your health, then continue building your faith. We all know that medicine has not been able to provide a permanent solution to health and wholeness, and that’s why it’s not advisable to rely on medicine alone. As you take the medicine, build your faith. But don’t ignore medicine while trying to build your faith, the inconvenience may not allow you see the revelation needed to overcome that situation.
Stop letting the sight of doctors or hospitals scare you. For me, I feel their knowledge will help me process divine health and wholeness faster. The bible says we should “produce our cause and bring forth our strong reason”. If I can diagnose a situation through the intelligence of a doctor, and he’s able to give a name to the situation, then it means I can present a valid case to God. Is it not better to ask God to heal me of high blood pressure than to ask Him to heal me of headache? Truth is, He may heal you of that headache, but as long as the high blood pressure is still there, then another headache will come. When that happens, you’d think God didn’t heal you. Now you see the importance of medical doctors in our Christian life.
I used to have severe migraines that almost took my life. I didn’t know that it was a problem with my eyes. The headache came everyday, especially when I operate my phone, computer, or walk in the sun. This happened everyday. Sometimes it lasted for few hours, and some other times for a whole day. But it happened everyday. Whenever it stopped within minutes, then I experienced a miracle that day. Long story short, I was advised to see a eye doctor, and then a glass was recommended.
I’m not scared of what the doctor might tell me, I already know who and what I am in Christ. But I pay attention to their expertise so I can know exactly what I’m dealing with. And no matter what it is, no matter what name it is called, it will still bow to the name of my Jesus.
I’m tired of hearing that Christians died because of a disease, the same disease that Jesus took. If Jesus took it, it means it can no longer kill you. All you have to do is present the report to Jesus. A Christian may die through any another means, but it shouldn’t be the sickness and diseases that Jesus took! It shouldn’t be!
I hope this has brought deliverance to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
