“Pastor, how do I know when the devil is accusing me in court?”

By now it’s clear to everyone that Satan is the accuser of the brethren. Anybody who charges you to court is your accuser, while you who is charged becomes the accused. If an accused does not appear in court to defend the accusations laid against him, a default judgment will be passed.

Revelation 12:10 tells us the level of Satan’s commitment to accusing believers. It says, “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night”.

Just look at that, day and night. Which literally means that he accuses us in the morning, afternoon, evening and night. That’s a minimum of 4 times everyday. If Satan accuses us that much before the court of heaven, then you can now understand why the scriptures admonishes that men ought always to pray and not to faint. Let’s see how scriptures put it:

Luke 18:
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint
2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Jesus’s parable about the judge couldn’t have been a coincidence. He was talking about the need for a consistent and habitual prayer lifestyle and suddenly delved into court matters. And then in verse 7, He relates the experience of that judge to God, and tells us that God will avenge His elects that cry unto Him day and night, even though He waited for them to show up in court when Satan brought the accusation (emphasis mine).

So although He may have passed a default judgment in your absence, and your adversary has been oppressing you because of that judgment, God can still overrule that judgment if you eventually plead your case. That widow was being oppressed by her adversary, the judge would not help her until he found a reason to – which was her consistency and resilience.

Satan accuses us day and night, God avenges us as we pray day and night. Which means if Satan accuses us 4 times a day, then we shouldn’t pray less than 4 times a day. Let David and Job inspire you on how to nullify the accusations brought by your accuser:

Job 31:
35 (“Oh, that I had someone to hear me! I sign now my defense—let the Almighty answer me; let my accuser put his indictment in writing.

Psalm 71:
13 May my accusers perish in shame; may those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace.

Did you see that? Sign your defense, by the blood of Jesus and the word of the Lord. You can also ask the Lord to punish your accusers just as David did.

Whether you were present during the accusation or not, you can apply all I just shared. However, it’s important that you are aware when your case is being discussed in court. Let me show you 4 quick ways the Holy Spirit prompts you to go to court if there’s an accusation against you:

– You can hear a word in your spirit
– You can see a word in your spirit or through an open vision
– You can feel a word in your spirit
– You can dream a word. Most times, what you dream is a sentence from a court. This is why you should never play down on your negative dreams. Go to court and appeal lest that dream begins to manifest in your life.

For instance, when I woke up this morning, I heard the name of a disease in my spirit. There was no need to hear the name of a disease when I just woke up. I immediately pleaded the blood of Jesus and declared my rights to health and wholeness. Moments later, I heard the name of another disease. This time, I had to ask the Lord to punish my accuser. I’ve had peace since that time. You might think it’s a coincidence, but I’d rather not take chances.

See what happened to Job. Although he later won the case, but he had to suffer a default judgment for a while. In Zechariah 3:1, Joshua was present in court when Satan stood to resist him. And because Joshua was present to plead his case, God ordered that the filty garment that was on Joshua be removed. It was immediately after that his word came.

Practice consistent prayers, and consciously destroy accusations that may have been tabled against you by the word of the Lord. It’s not religion at all, it’s a spiritual system.
