“Pastor, I keep having dreams of myself back in my secondary school, what does it mean?”

Dreams are dark speeches, and they are often illuminated by a combination of our personal experiences and God’s word.

For instance, if you keep seeing yourself in a old family house that you left, it could mean two things; it’s either an attack is coming that may send you back to a position you left, or there is something you have to do for your family. In most cases, the later is the correct interpretation of such dreams. You probably need to visit your family and find out if there’s a problem, or just observe to see if there’s something you need to do.

Since you once lived with them, it should be easy to notice when something is not right. As a matter of fact, the chances of having such a dream is slim if you’ve never lived with them.

On the other hand, don’t assume anything. Ensure you pray in faith against the possibility of a setback. Personally, I’ve had this type of dream many times, and each of those times, I declare a few scriptures in faith and then I plan to visit. Amazingly, there’s always something to do each time I visit. It’s been a long time since I had such a dream, maybe because they are now on my payroll.

Seeing yourself back in secondary school can mean two things; it’s either you didn’t complete something, or you haven’t been taking your study life seriously. The later is often the case for most people who have these dreams, some of them haven’t read a book since they left school.

Think about it, how much attention have you given to personal development since you graduated from school? If the Holy Spirit is showing you a dream like this, then it’s because God has a purpose for your life, and your lack of personal development may be hindering the manifestation of that purpose. Let me show you a scripture:

Acts 20:
32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Did you see that? There’s something about developing yourself, especially in God’s word, that builds you up and gives you a purpose. God wants to give you purpose, but you may be wasting time by not committing to personal development, especially spiritually.

As I conclude, the formal school system should remain our way of life even after school. Create a semester for yourself and outline things you have to learn during that semester. Set exams for yourself and grade yourself. It’s easier for God to use people who pay attention to growth than those who don’t.

I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.

Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
