“Pastor, it was easier to run my business when things were okay, but now that things are difficult, I intend to just wait till things are good again”

No way! We don’t wait for good times before we take good steps; we take good steps so that the bad times can change into good times. In this kingdom, we don’t reap before sowing; we sow before reaping. And whatsoever a man sows, that’s what he’d reap. If you keep doing good despite the difficulty of the times, then it won’t be long before the time would change; but if you decide to wait until the times change, then you may wait forever, because change only responds to what you sow.

This is a kingdom law! The government may be doing terribly and the economy may be discouraging, but this law cannot be altered. If it could be altered, then Isaac wouldn’t have reaped an hundredfold when he sowed in the land during the famine.

Things may be difficult for your government, but your government isn’t the reason why things are difficult for you. You have to understand this! The laws of the kingdom we’re operating from doesn’t necessarily depend on the natural supplies of the kingdom we physically live in. Although we live in this world, we are not of this world.

Ecclesiastes 11:6 will now make sense to you. It says, “In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good”.

This is one of the scriptures that has helped me when it comes to pursuing my purpose and giving. It’s easy to push when things are good, but difficult to maintain that zeal as situations become tough. It’s easy to give when things are good with you, but when things are though, many people naturally resist giving.

“Morning” in that scripture signifies light or a period of convenience, and “evening” signifies a period of darkness or a period when it’s not convenient to sow or commit yourself. Despite the fact that it’s usually not convenient to invest or give during tough times, the bible admonishes us not to withhold our hand. That’s right! Don’t withhold your hand because you don’t know which one will produce the harvest you’re expecting.

The wisdom behind that scripture is that both day and night can be utilized during a planting season. And just because a seed was planted during the day doesn’t mean it would produce an expected harvest. You’d be surprised that the one you sowed in the night may even produce more than the one you sowed in the morning.

The widow of Zarephat was in her night season when the prophet asked her to give him something to eat. Although she made excuses, which was expected, but she still sowed. And miraculously, that which she sowed in her night season produced an harvest that had to be recorded in the bible.

Things may be difficult, but no matter how much you preach to a soil, it won’t grow mango tree without planting a seed in it. “Dear soil, you know things are hard now, the economy has greatly affected seeds in the market, so please just grow a apple tree. Thanks”. Come back ten years after you’ve made that plea, nothing will change.

As long as the earth remains, seed time and harvest shall not cease. Which means as long as you’re still alive, you still have a chance to create a better life for yourself through the law of seedtime and harvest. It may be difficult at first and may even require that you make sacrifices to do it, but sow. Harvest will cease the moment sowing ceases. Don’t just sit down and hope that harvest will come one-day-one-day without sowing anything. It doesn’t work that way. And just incase you’ve sown something, don’t sit down to wait for the harvest, sow something else and something more. Don’t withhold your hand, because you don’t know which one will produce result first.

So keep pushing, keep investing, keep sowing, it’s only a matter of time before your harvest season starts. It’s a law!
