“Pastor, the last four months has not been really good for me, can anything good come out of this new month?”

Sure, but how you receive the month will greatly influence how the month will turn out for you, whether good or bad. Let’s see how scripture puts it:

1 Timothy 4:
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Did you see that? Everything God created is good if you receive it with thanksgiving. So there’s a possibility of having another bad month if your body language towards this new month is ingratitude.

Some people behave as though the devil can give life. Unfortunately, he can’t. Which means every new minute, hour, day or month that you witness, God gave it to you. And if it is God that gave it to you, then you must understand that the only admissible and profitable way to receive anything from God is through thanksgiving. Let me show you a few scriptures:

SCRIPTURE 1

John 3:
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

Thats right! A man can literally receive nothing except it was giving to him from heaven. If God didn’t see a possibility of you having a great and fulfilling month, then there’d be no need wasting another month on you. He could have as well called you to heaven. So if He gave you a new month, then there must be a good reason.

SCRIPTURE 2

James 1:
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Wow! That should excite you. So the month that God gave you is not bad, it’s either good or perfect, depending on your faith in His word.

You have to make up your mind, this month is good! This month is good! This month is good! Stop worrying about all the bad things that could happen, all things work together for good, even if they are bad things. This month is GOOD!

SCRIPTURE 3

John 10:
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

So God gave you the privilege of another month just so you can enjoy abundant life, not destruction. Stop expecting death and destruction, start expecting abundant life.

Now that it’s clear that it is God that gave you this month, you have to understand that just because it is a gift from God doesn’t mean it cannot turn out bad for you. Just as I referenced in the opening scripture, you have to receive this month with thanksgiving if you want things to turn out good for you.

Actually, it is dangerous to receive anything that God gives you with ingratitude or any flawed character. Remember how the children of Israel who ate the quails that God supplied died? The moment they took a bite, they died. The bible tells us that they died because of their lust.

As I conclude, this is the month that the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it. Don’t focus your attention on the things that are wrong; rather understand that the month is the Lord’s doing, so let it be marvelous in your eyes. That way, you’d enjoy the best of God.
