“Pastor, why do I need money when I have an anointing that does things that money can do?”
I don’t doubt the fact that the anointing can do things that money can do. As a matter of scriptures, the anointing would do it faster and better.
An example would be how Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding that held in Cana. Money could also buy wine for that wedding, except that it couldn’t have happened as fast as the anointing did it. From the story, if the wine were to be bought with money, the possibility of using it for that same wedding is very slim.
Another instance would be how Jesus fed over five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fishes. Money would have been able to feed those people, except that it wouldn’t have happened as fast and organized as it did. The anointing would always be a far greater currency than money as far as trading in this world is concerned.
However, as potent and swift as the anointing is, the world doesn’t know they need the anointing except money fails them. Which means in the face of a financial challenge, a rich man would be called first, not the anointed man. The anointed man would only be called when the issue doesn’t have a financial solution. Let’s see how scriptures put it:
Ecclesiastes 9:
15 Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.
16 Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
Did you see that? Everybody acknowledged the poor wise man when he saved the city, yet as they went about their daily struggles, they didn’t remember that the man had wisdom that could save them. Isn’t it amazing that if a person is in debt, he won’t call a pastor to cancel that debt with prayer, He’d first look for someone who is financially capable of bailing him out. It’s only when the issue is looking like a demonic attack that a pastor will be called. The irony is, the pastor may even be an expert in canceling debts through prayer, but he won’t be the first consideration when challenges arise. The wisdom or even anointing of the financially poor man is easily despised. And this is because the world doesn’t know they need the anointing except money cannot solve their problem.
Personally, if I have money to buy a car, I won’t even remember praying for a car or praying to buy one. That’s how the anointed person isn’t remembered when money can be considered. But once there’s no money, my prayer altar will be on fireš.
We’re told from scriptures that money answereth all things, which means you’d scarcely find a natural situation on earth that doesn’t answer to money. Money may only fail when the situation isn’t natural. So, if you don’t want to suffer relegation in this world, then you need to make money. The anointing will have it’s use when money fails or isn’t available at all.
In this world, he who has money is far more respected than he who has anointing. Anointed men who do not have money are naturally relegated until they are needed. If you doubt me, go to Google and search for the word “Pastor”, I’m pretty sure you won’t see an anointed man in one village house on the top of the list.
Now I don’t mean to offend anyone, especially missionaries who are doing great works in our villages, but I just needed to drive a necessary point. It’s not that the anointing is not better than money, but the world we live in would not consider the anointed man until they’ve exhausted their options with money.
Oftentimes when people approach me to aid them with their health issues, I ask them if they’ve consulted a medical doctor. To my amazement, they’d tell me that they don’t have money to go to the hospital. In other words, they would have gone to the hospital first if they had money. This is also why many people have not received their healing, they are double minded. Instead of just trusting God, they would have gone to the hospital if they had money. So the only reason why they’re trusting God for healing is because they don’t have money to go to the hospital. This is different from trusting God for healing because you know He’s a Healer, and whether you have money or not, you’d rather wait on the Lord for your healing. This kind of people receive healing without delay.
Now you see why even the church needs money. Today, people don’t only go to church for anointing, they also go to see if they can receive welfare. If the church doesn’t have money, it won’t be long before the church gets relegated. The government can take decisions that will literally stop the church from running, but not a church with money and a stake in the nation.
Money is world power. All those people saying that pastors have no business being in possession of plenty money doesn’t understand this. Nobody is searching Google for the most anointed pastor, but when it comes to the richest pastor, it makes headline news on a regular. If having money will keep Christians relevant in this world, then let’s have this money.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
