Your case is better, at least you know what the problem is. If she doesn’t know how to do anything, then all you need to do is teach her how to do everything in love.
That’s right! When the bible admonishes the husband to love his wife, what were you expecting? Let me guess, you thought it would just be about throwing her kisses and showering her with gifts, right? That’s not bad, but loving your wife also includes empowering her in areas where she’s weak.
If she doesn’t know how to cook a meal you like, instead of nagging about it, teach her how to cook it in love. And if you can’t cook, pay a professional to teach both of you how to cook it. Note my words, “both of you”, so that she can feel loved. If she goes through the training alone, she may feel insecurity, and insecurity is not love. Trust me, that kind of feeling is not good for marriage.
One of the greatest secrets I’ve discovered in marriage is that for every moment that a wife feels loved by her husband, favour is released to the husband. You’ve probably read that “he that finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord”, that’s very correct. But you see, if you don’t love the wife you found, you can’t gain access to that favour. This is probably why many couples are struggling in their marriage, no love!
Love your wife as Christ loved the church. If you’d recall, it was while we were yet sinners that Christ died for us. So kill your self pride and ego, kill your selfish desires, kill anything that needs to be killed within you so that your wife can feel loved – which will eventually release favour upon you.
Joseph killed his self pride and married Mary regardless. Today, he’s the father of the Saviour of the world. What a favour! Jesus sacrificed His position as a God to become human, just so He could empower us to walk in righteousness. Today, He’s reaping the good fruits of His sacrifice. If you knew me before I met Jesus, you probably would have disliked me. But you like my works today only because Jesus, the bride-groom of the church, was patient with me – teaching me His ways in love. I wasn’t useful for anything, but today, I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.
This has to be the testimony of your wife; sacrifice for her until she can do all things because you strengthened her. Most men try to enforce a change when they should make sacrifices towards the change they desire. When it comes to marriage, learn from Jesus how changes are made, you prove your love by making sacrifices.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
