“Pastor, despite all my spiritual investments in prayer, I can’t say anything good is happening in my life. What do I do?”
There are 3 things that must be in a believer’s life. The first is prayer, the second is the word of God, and the third is work. The assignment of prayer and the word of God is to bring God’s blessing into your life. Let me show you a few scriptures:
SCRIPTURE 1:
Philippians 4:
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
So clearly, your anxieties can be dealt with in prayers. Asides prayer being a communion between man and God, it’s also a medium of exchange between the spirit realm and the physical realm. You don’t have to worry about your worldly cares or limitations when you have a divine connectivity that can bail you out of them.
SCRIPTURE 2:
Proverbs 4:
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
We understand from scriptures that God’s word is a spirit that can transmit its life into those who receive and believe it. This scripture further buttresses that truth; if you incline your ears to God’s word, it would give you a life, the very life it speaks about. If God’s word says you’d be above only and not beneath, as long as you believe it, the spirit behind the word will keep moving you till that word becomes your reality. You may even be at the lowest level when you encountered that word, but it doesn’t matter, the spirit behind the word will change that status.
SCRIPTURE 3:
Joshua 1:
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
This isn’t so different from the second scripture. If you want to have good success and make your way prosperous, then God’s word has to be your meditation and solution to all things.
Having established that prayer and the word secures blessings for us, it’s important that we understand that the only way for God’s blessing to find expression in our lives is through work. According to scriptures, God will bless the works of our hands. Which means if there’s no work, then you won’t be able to tell if you’re blessed or not.
What do you do? As long as you’re not a full time preacher, then you should be working. You’re probably about to tell me that there’s no job anywhere, but hey, whatever your hands finds to do, do it. Register with a real estate company and look for clients that will buy properties. Get a brush and a shoe polish to clean shoes for people, buy phone chargers and charge phone for people who may need to charge their phone in major market places, there’s just so much you can do without an official employment. I mean, if companies are not employing, then employ yourself.
You have to understand, God has guaranteed that whatever you do shall prosper, so it’s not really about how big or small what you do is, the blessing makes anything you do big. A shoe shiner can become a multimillionaire in no time, it’s the blessings of God that makes rich. That’s right! The blessings of God can give you an idea that will expand that small business into an international brand.
As I conclude, prosperity is for doers, not prayer warriors or even scripture quoters. If you are not a doer, you’re not permitted to prosper. So start doing something, so that the blessings from your prayers and meditations will begin to find expression.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
