“Pastor, please help me, I don’t know what to do with my life”
Oh wow! Sorry about how you feel. However, the fact that you don’t know what to do with your life clearly reveals a deficiency in learning. That’s right! Every man has potentials lurking within him, but it would take a conscious and deliberate investment in studying to reveal them.
I’ve often said that knowledge reveals potentials. The more you read or get knowledge, the more light shines upon your path. The more you read and get knowledge, the more possibilities are revealed.
This reminds me of a game I played on my phone; though my warriors were in a small village, but I couldn’t but notice that the village was in the middle of a dark but massive space. From afar, the village was just a little light in the middle of a mighty darkness. After surviving the first attack, I was given resources to extend the village borders and infrastructure. To my amazement, what I thought was thick darkness was a developed land waiting to be taking. The more I engaged in battles, the more my borders were extended to reveal the infrastructure in those dark areas. It wasn’t long before I became a formidable force.
You need to start seeing the hunt for knowledge as a battle to both withstand and destroy your adversaries. The more knowledgeable you become, the more your borders increase.
There are many things I discovered I could do as I read and listened to messages. For instance, I never knew that I had potentials inside me until I read a book titled “Activating the genius in you”. Once that book revealed that I had potentials and how that my potentials could distinguish me in this world, I started looking for books that would help me to both reveal and maximize my potentials. I remember buying series of books by Dr Myles Monroe of blessed memories and read all of them. The more I read, the more possibilities were revealed.
It was as I read Dr Jerry Savelle’s books that I discovered I could also write with ecstasy. It was while I read Kenneth Hagin’s books that I knew I could write in a way that is relative to my readers, such that when they start reading, they won’t get bored. It was as I listened to Bishop David Abioye that I discovered that I could speak with revelatory knowledge.
One day, I was reading a book titled “Putting your talent to work”, and I couldn’t but notice the struggle in flowing with the author. I tried to force myself to read it, but it wasn’t just flowing. All of a sudden, I heard the voice of the Lord say, “You can do better”. That’s the day I started writing books. I immediately wrote a book titled “Maximizing your intellect”, but unfortunately, I’ve not been able to find the manuscript till this day. Please don’t bother encouraging me search harder, it only reminds me of a great loss. This happened in 2012, yet I haven’t recovered from it. If you’ve ever forgotten an idea or revelation that God gave you, then you’d know exactly how I feel.
As I conclude, God has created every one of us to lead in our creative space, but anyone who must emerge a leader must first be a reader. It’s common knowledge that readers are leaders. Learn wisdom from 2 Timothy 2:15, it says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. If you don’t want to remain in hiding, then study to show yourself. That’s right! The only way to show yourself in this world is to study.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
