“Pastor, my colleagues always think I am proud each time I declare that my case is different. Is it pride to speak positively in the midst of negativity?”

It’s not pride at all. As a matter of scriptures, speaking positively isn’t enough, you have to speak loud enough so that those around you can hear you and be a witness to what you have said. Let me show you a few scriptures:

SCRIPTURE 1:

Matthew 10:
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Think about it, a confession is never made quietly, neither is it made in your mind. A confession is usually a public declaration of a truth, with witnesses present to hear it.

As Christians, our Truth is different from the truth of the world. Jesus is our Truth, and many times the world’s truth doesn’t agree with what Jesus is saying in His Word. The world may be saying that there is a casting down, but God’s word is saying there is a lifting up. And just because I live in this world doesn’t mean I should be coerced into believing and declaring their truth. Things may be difficult in this world, but that’s not my truth. And the law of confession requires that you declare the truth.

So if you think I am proud because I declared what I know to be truth, then that’s okay, it’s only a matter of time before you realized that I’m correct.

So if you confess Jesus – The Truth in a way that men hear you, Jesus will also confess you before the Father. And I’m sure you know what that means, it means that God will honour your confession, or rather, reward your confession.

Luke 12:8 even explains it better. It says, “Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God”. In other words, the moment you make that positive and scriptural confession, Jesus will give command to the angels of God to execute that which you confessed.

Revelation 3:5 interprets our confession as a strategy to overcome challenges. It says, “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels”. Isn’t this beautiful?

No wonder, when Jesus cursed that fig tree, the fig tree dried up from its root. The disciples who heard him when he made that declaration were the ones that reported the situation to him the next day. Jesus was so confident about this mystery that he immediately began a lecture about the mystery of faith confession. Let’s see how scriptures put it:

Matthew 21:
20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

When Paul and Silas prayed and sang in the prison, scripture tells us that the prisoners heard them. The next thing that happened was that the earth quaked and their prison gate opened. That’s the protocol, you have to be heard before Jesus can issue commands to His angels.

David understood this principle, he didn’t let Goliath’s threat put fear in his heart, he immediately replied with faith confessions. We know the rest of the story, David took off Goliath’s head.

As I conclude, think of Joseph, think of Daniel, Shedrack, Meshach, and Abednego, think of Moses. These men took charge of their world through faith confessions.
