“Pastor, my business is really going down, how can my business experience the power of God?”
One of the greatest secrets I’ve learnt about the kingdom of God is that God is less interested in anything that doesn’t directly affect or concern His kingdom. If He gives you something, then it’s because He wants to use that thing to the benefit of His kingdom. So, instead of waiting for God to give me something because of what He wants to do, I simply sanctify everything around my life to fit His program. That way, I’m able to experience His presence in my life on all sides.
The primary purpose of the power of God is for witnessing Jesus. If you want God’s power to manifest in your business, then be ready to witness Jesus through your business. Let me show you a scripture:
Acts 1:
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Did you see that? So there’s no doubt that you’d receive power when the Holy Ghost comes upon you, but the power only works for people who are kingdom advancement minded.
You’d agree with me that it’s impossible for God’s power to be made available in a place and yet not transform the place. Likewise, it’s impossible for God’s power to be made available to a person and not transform the person.
The moment I learnt this secret, I take the name of Jesus everywhere I go. I remember when I got a job in 2017, I started engaging in evangelism the same week I resumed work. I’d get to the office early, drop my bag and head out to the streets to evangelize to workers both in the organization where I work and neigbouring organizations. It wasn’t long before people around that neighborhood started calling me pastor.
After a while, God inspired me to start a Christian fellowship under a tree right in front of the organization I work with. I wanted the fellowship to be inside the company, but I later realized that God chose that venue so that people who were not employees in my company could join us.
I had nothing to write home about when I started, but today, God has multiplied me several times more. I still work with that organization, although people do not believe me when I say it. The reason for their disbelieve is obvious, my results are far different from their own. We started at the same level, but God’s power has distinguished me.
Speaking of God’s power, it’s been barely seven years since I started working with the organization, yet the testimony of God’s presence and power has been evident, both in my life and the lives of those that follow Jesus through my leading. I got to the organization in 2017, and it’s that same year I wrote 27 books. Till date, I’ve authored over 60 books.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not giving credit to the organization in any way, because many of their employees are still living impoverished lives. I’m just trying to establish that when God’s power is present in a place or your life, your path will continue to shine brighter and brighter.
There are multitudes of people who need to hear the gospel of Jesus. People in your community, streets, family and so on. If you’re committed to allowing Jesus use you to reach them, then you’d experience His power in your life. Let me show you a scripture:
Luke 5:
1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret
2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
Did you see that? Jesus needed to preach the word to people, but that wouldn’t be possible except he used Peter’s boat. Your boat can be your employment in that organization, it can be the house you rented in that street, it can be that child you sent to school, it can be your money. That’s right! There are some businesses that obviously cannot engage in kingdom advancement practices, they can use their money to support those who are doing it. Either way, Jesus is using your boat. The revelation behind that scripture is that Jesus can actually be a partner in your business if you’d allow Him use your boat to reach out to the lost. If Jesus becomes a partner in your business, then things can only get better for you.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
