“Pastor, nobody believes in my vision. Does it mean that they don’t trust me?”

When it comes to our personal dreams, visions, or God’s calling upon our lives, people will not believe you until they see how much you believe in it. If you have a calling and you don’t believe in the calling, who will believe in the calling?

You’re probably about to exclaim that you believe in your vision, but the acid test of trust or believe in something is not in words, it’s in the actions that proceeds from you towards that thing. How much have you invested into your vision? That’s right! Your personal investment in your vision naturally draws people to you, both to follow you and invest in you.

When I started writing on social media, I can recall that nobody showed interest in my articles. I know this because I wasn’t getting any likes or comments. Sometimes after 24 hours of posting the article, I’d be compelled to like the article – just so that there can be at least one like. Even when I wrote books, I remember how church and family members would try to make corrections as though I had done rubbish. Some church members even blocked me from sending my articles to them. Till date, I’m not sure if my own family members read my articles.

Despite all of that, I believed in God’s call upon my life. I believed I was called to teach the gospel of Christ on the World Wide Web through writing. I didn’t let their lack of support and interest discourage me, I believed in what God sent me.

I continued to seperate myself unto God through fasting, praying and studying the word of God for revelation. I lived a spirit-conscious life just so that I could always gain access to inspiration each day. The rejections and lack of trust were there, but I continued despite. When I say “lack of trust”, I mean that people didn’t pay attention to the things I wrote mostly because there were better writers and authors they could read from if they wanted to read. To them, Anslem was just playing around.

To my amazement, whenever I read the things I wrote from far back as 2012, I’m amazed at the depth of insight. It’s always very hard to believe that nobody liked them or even made a comment. I recall reposting one of those articles later on when things became better, the reactions and comments were touching. I believe I wept that day. The same article, what changed?

I changed! My life had been so transformed by the articles that people were looking for the secrets to my transformation. And for this reason, they were compelled to read my articles. To their amazement, the articles carry far more than they expected. If you stumbled on my article by chance today, you’d definitely save the page just so you don’t miss it tomorrow. That’s how it has been from the first day, but nobody gave me a chance. The difference now is that people are seeing and hearing of the good reports, and they don’t want to be left out.

In 2017 when I officially commenced writing ebooks, I consulted a website designer to create a website for me where I’d make all my ebooks available for free download. I paid with my money, I still pay for hosting yearly. As a matter of fact, the website manager just informed me yesterday that the hosting needs to be renewed soon. Think about it, the books and articles I post on the website are absolutely free, yet I still pay money from my pocket to keep the website up. I do all of these because I trust and have faith in the calling that God called me. It doesn’t matter how men accept me now, as I continue to invest in this calling, they’d come by.

I just published two new ebooks yesterday. The information in those books will transform any life, and they’d be willing to pay for it. Yet, I gave them out for free. God didn’t ask me to sell revelation, my assignment is simple, “Add value to lives, by propagating applicable knowledge to My people”. A friend once adviced me to stop giving out my books for free because they may lose market value when I eventually decide to sell them. Clearly, he doesn’t understand the assignment that God gave me.

Today, it’s not the question of people not believing in my calling anymore, it’s about who’s missing out on the daily dose that God releases via these articles. Honestly, I feel sad for anyone who isn’t reading my articles. And that’s because when you eventually start reading, you’d have alot to read😂. Those of you that have been following me for years would understand what I’m talking about. These articles are life savers. I’ve said this over and again, ninety percent of the transformation in my life came from the articles I’ve written.

So, keep investing in your vision or your calling, despite the lack of support. Be your own follower, like and make comments on your work. Practice or apply what you preach or do, so that people can see it working in your life. If they don’t see it working, they won’t desire it. Study as much as you can to develop yourself in the area of your calling. Spend money on your vision so that people can spend money on you. Don’t save your money hoping that a charity organization will arise from somewhere to support you. Start with what you have and continue with what you have if need be. The more you know, the more you’re able to give. Most importantly, don’t despise fellowship with God, both by prayer and by His Word. Things will get better!
