When it comes to God, the surest sign needed for any believer to excel in anything is faith. Hebrews 11:1 already makes this very clear. It says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.
Did you see that? Faith is the evidence of things not seen! So, you need God to give you a sign or an evidence that you’d succeed in that business, well, here’s God telling you that faith is the best sign or evidence you need.
As I’ve often defined, faith is the name given to the action birthed from your convictions about God and His Word. The moment you encounter a word from the Lord concerning a desire and you believe it, then expect that which you desire to come to pass. Also, the moment you encounter a word from the Lord that is against a desire in your heart, then that’s a sign or an evidence that your desire may bring a disaster to you. So instead of waiting for a sign, carry your Bible and start reading. There’s no way you won’t encounter a word that would direct you on what to do.
Let me show you a few scriptures:
2 Peter 1:
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Did you notice the words “More sure word”, “of Prophecy”, “You do well”, “A light that shines in a dark place?
So we have a MORE SURE WORD. This should get you excited already. Why wait for a sign when you can just read from the more sure Word? When you eventually find the word and you decide to take heed to it by faith, the same scripture says you’d do well and shine in the dark places of the earth.
16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
Did you notice the word “none shall want her mate”? It simply means there’s nothing you’re looking for that you won’t find in the bible. What confuses most people is how sixty six books can contain the answer to all of life’s problem, what they don’t know is that every scripture was given by the inspiration of God, and one scripture can inspire billions of things. That’s why when it comes to revealing scriptures, no man should claim monopoly. It’s one thing to have a revelation of the stories, but it’s an entirely different thing to encounter the mysteries of scriptures.
45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
From the previous scripture, recall that it says “we have a more sure word of prophecy”, which means God’s word is prophetic in nature. What it says may not look like you at the moment you encountered the word, but if you engage your faith in it, you’d eventually look like it.
If God’s word tells you not to go to Egypt, just because your market survey for your business in Egypt was positive doesn’t mean you’d succeed in Egypt. The current physical signs may be contrary to what God said, but God’s word is prophetic, what it says will surely come to pass. If you’re trusting God to guide you on who to marry, and somehow you find a scripture that tells you who not to marry among your suitors, if you go ahead and marry that person just because what you read from the bible isn’t the current status of that person, then you’d be making a grave mistake. God’s word is prophetic; it may not look like it now, but it will surely become like it.
Finally, don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying that God cannot show you a sign, especially if you ask for specific signs. Ofcourse He can, and He does. But it’s far better to work by faith in His word, this one never fails. Moreover, the word of God would always contain more details than just a sign.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
