Whenever Satan comes to accuse you of something you really did…

Don’t fright… He’s only doing his job… He’s called the accuser of the brethren.

“Hmm… You cheated yesterday, you lied a few hours ago, you were prideful towards your pastor, you’ve idolized your money, you dishonored your parents, you didn’t go out for evangelism, and every other thing you didn’t do right”… Believe me, these things are normal with him.

Remember my counsel to you four days ago, that one of the ways through which Satan engages us in warfare is through our mind. He’d make you believe that God is still angry with you, and that your sin was too great to be forgiven. As long as he succeeds in making you believe negative things about your God, then your faith cannot work. And if your faith isn’t working, there’d be no shield over your life.

Don’t forget that the bible charges us to take the shield of faith so that we can quench all the fiery darts of the devil. The aim of the devil is to pull down your shield so that evil can flow through you to every area of your life. Suddenly you may hear that your business is having a challenge, or that your child is sick, or that your wife has been fired from her job. While you may think that those things are God’s way of punishing you, it’s simply a result of your shield of faith that was pulled down. False believe or wrong believe will always pull down the shield of faith, and that’s what the devil aims to do when he attempts to deceive us.

Learn to cast down imaginations and any high thought that exalts itself above the knowledge of Christ. You must put all thoughts or imaginations under scrutiny by the Word of God. If God’s word says contrary, then stick to God’s word. Declare what you believe in God’s word continually until your spirit man agrees with it. That’s right! Sometimes even after asking for forgiveness, you may still feel unclean, it’s your duty to declare God’s word to your heart until your spirit man accepts it. It’s by our words that we are justified and it’s by our words that we are condemned. You can make your heart feel justified by speaking words to it.

Beware of letting your shield of faith down. Job didn’t understand this, the moment his shield went down, the devil was free to torment him. This is where many believers miss it. According to Apostle Paul, the only strenght that sponsors sin is the law, and we are no longer under the law, we’ve gained victory through Jesus Christ. Let’s read how the scripture puts it:

1 Corinthians 15:
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

So the next time Satan accuses you that you didn’t pray in the night and that walking with God is so hard, don’t feel bad about it, instead ask God for mercy through Christ Jesus and restrategize your prayer life. Tell the devil that the strenght to maintain an effective prayer life is not in you, but that you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. Hallelujah!

So while the devil thinks he’s condemning or accusing you of something, you just need to take it as a reminder of something you’re not doing right. If he tells you that you just lied, it means you have something to seek forgiveness for, not something to worry about.

If Satan’s accusations causes you to worry, then you really don’t know your rights in Christ. Romans 8:34 throws a very power question, it says “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us”. So don’t let Satan condemn you, he didn’t die for you.

As much as I wouldn’t want to mention this, even if you committed fornication or adultery, don’t let it weigh you down, the blood of Jesus also cleanses from adultery and fornication. Oh, you killed someone? The law of your government might send you to prison or even give you a death sentence, but it doesn’t mean God cannot forgive you. This is a part of the gospel I deliberately avoid😂, and that’s because some baby believers might consider it an avenue for licentiousness. But clearly, there are more people who needs to be delivered than those who may misunderstanding this.

Jesus will not condemn you as long as you come to him. You remember the story in John chapter 8, when the scribes and Pharisees brought a woman that was caught for commiting adultery to Jesus. They began by reminding Jesus how the law of Moses condemns adulterers to death before they asked Jesus what should be done to her. We all know the story, Jesus gave them an amazing response. But I’d like to draw out something from verse 10 and 11:

John 8:
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Did you see how the words “accuser” and “condemned” were used. Satan would first accuse you before he condemns you. Now I have good news for you:

Romans 8:
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.

Hallelujah! Did you see that? There’s no more condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus! Satan is free to accuse you of sin, but Jesus already condemned sin, which means the only thing Satan can do is to keep you in a state of guilt till you become frustrated and probably give up.

So, like that woman that was caught in adultery, use the word of God to deal with accusations from the devil. Once you do that, ask the Lord for mercy for that which you were accused of. Life goes on.

Finally, let me beg you, avoid sin at all cost. While the saving grace of Jesus may remain on you, the grace you’ve gathered through labour will keep abating as you sin. It’s only a matter of time before you realize that those miracles and testimonies you used to command are no longer a possibility for you. Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound? God forbid!

You have to choose… SIN or GRACE…
