“Pastor, it’s already November. Will I end this year again with nothing to show?”
thank No! Abraham did not end his days as a weakling, Hannah did not end her days as a barren woman. Though Joseph began his journey in misery, but his life became a mystery overnight. Daniel was supposed to become a trained magician, but God advanced him to become a prime minister. Job did not have any tangible hope for recovery, but suddenly, God restored twice of what he had. Moses carried the burden of Israel’s suffering in Egypt for many years, but suddenly God made him their deliverer.
Let me tell you how it is going to end. God will comfort you on every side, He will change the tune of the song and put a sweet song in your mouth. He will bring down your oppositions right before your face, and your eyes will see your desires upon your enemies. Laughter will become the order of the day, and your joy shall be full.
However, you must continue in faith, bearing in mind that without faith, it is impossible to please God. If God is not pleased, then it’s unlikely that He’d continue working. As long as your faith is on, then be rest assured that God is still working. Let’s see how scriptures put it:
Luke 18:
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Look at that! It may appear like God is taking so long or like He’s not even going to come through for you, but that scripture says He will avenge you speedily. However, the challenge is that when He eventually comes, will He find faith.
I’m not sure exactly why God sometimes delays a blessing, but having read the Bible, it’s either because He wants to train the person or He wants it to be loud. Think about it, why did Jesus delay for two extra days before he went to wake Lazarus? Jesus must have taught Martha about the importance of faith if one desires to see the glory of God, but clearly, she had not understood it. I believe this was what informed Jesus’s response to her when she said Lazarus was already stinking. Let’s read it from scriptures:
John 11:
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
Did you notice verse 40? “Said I not unto thee…”. In other words, “haven’t I told you…”. So he had taught her before, but she didn’t understand it.
Martha’s delay was to train her faith, another person’s delay might be to deal with the issue of pride, another person’s delay may be to deal with his lack of endurance.
If that’s the case, then instead of worrying about why God is delaying and considering alternatives, why not pay attention to the training that God may be giving you. Some Christians are very proud, so sometimes God can put them in a position that would give them an opportunity to deal with their pride. Praying to God to give you breakthrough from such a position will be a waste of time. Instead, search within you, there’s probably something that needs to be changed.
From experience, once we come to a point of realization and thoroughly adjust in our ways, the breakthrough we’re praying for is automated. That’s when all the blessings you’ve been praying for will start landing.
Let me conclude with this; faith is God’s working currency; and God will only stop working when you stop paying your faith to Him.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
