“Pastor, how do I apply the bible to my life’s situation per time. I want to start doing things God’s way”
Asides the fact that the bible reveals the systems of kingdom of God to us, it’s still the wisest book in the world today. Applying the biblical truths to your daily life experiences will irrefutably make you stand out in life.
In other to help you understand how the Bible or scriptures are applied to our daily life, I’d paint a few scenarios and give a scripture that fits.
– You may be feeling tempted to do something you know is wrong. Perhaps your colleagues or friends are doing it and they’ve tried convincing you to join them:
1 Corinthians 10:13
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
– You may feel as though somebody disapproves of you because you are young:
1 Timothy 4:12
12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
– You may be scared about something going on in your life right now.
Deuteronomy 31:6
6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
– Your friends may be bad-mouthing somebody or something, and you’re trying to decide whether you should too:
Ephesians 4:29
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
– You may be wondering what your purpose is in life:
Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
– You may feel like you’re always working too hard for others.
Galatians 6:9
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
– You may be wondering how to stay pure in a really dirty world.
Psalm 119:9
9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.
– You may feel lost in this world
Psalm 119:105
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
– You may be feeling hopeless.
Romans 15:13
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
– You may be feeling fearful or anxious about a situation you’re going through.
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
– You may feel that God is guiding you to do something you are afraid or don’t want to do.
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
– You may be feeling tired and burdened by life and the people in it.
Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
– Everyone else might be interested in stuff that you know is wrong.
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
– You may be wondering why God loves all different race, occupation, gender, etc.
Galatians 3:28 ESV
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
From my experience, there’s always a scripture to tackle any situation we face per time, the challenge would be commiting ourselves to studying till we find that scripture.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
