So yesterday I wrote about two things that can make a spiritually hot believer become cold – even if he doesn’t stop engaging in spiritual activities. In explaining the second point which is “Emptiness”, I remarked that spirituality is in levels; and for every new level, oppositions are re-inforced. In Matthew chapter 12, Jesus teaches us that when a demon is cast out of a person, he comes back after a while to see if the house he was cast out from is empty, and then he goes to re-inforce himself and repossesses the man. Let’s see how scriptures put it:
43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
Many believers think that a state of emptiness is a state where spiritual activities are not often engaged, but not necessarily; it can also be a state where one’s current knowledge and authority isn’t a threat to the opposition. Now that you’re wondering why despite all your fasting, prayer, and revelations, demons won’t stop oppressing you; this is most likely the reason.
If your spiritual level is no longer a threat to the opposition, then what’s the use of your spiritual level? Your spiritual level dealt with one demon, now you have 7 more to deal with. It’s time to “come up hither”, you’ve compassed that mountain of power long enough, it’s time to come up. I can’t imagine a demon telling me that I’m empty despite my heavy involvements in kingdom principles, I’d be so upset. However, if it ever happens, then it simply means it’s time to seek for higher levels of spiritual intelligence. When oppositions consistently resist you, it simply means you need to upgrade. If you continue to lose spiritual battles despite your spiritual activities, then you may get discouraged and eventually get cold again. That’s not a good thing; many Christians have given up on God because of this. They thought that God forsook them, not knowing that they needed to grow in authority.
Now, if you want to increase your spiritual level, one thing is necessary; be meek like Moses. An arrival mentality will hinder your spiritual advancement. I’m not sure you’d find a man who spoke with God like Moses did, yet in all that he encountered, he’d tell you that he didn’t know God. Despite all the unthinkable things he did from Egypt into the wilderness, he still yearned to see God’s glory. Some of you merely healed the sick and you think you’ve conquered the devil. That’s pride!
I’m always amazed each time I see young Believers criticizing fathers of faith, that’s an arrival mentality. It’s why they never stand the test of time. They think what they know is final, meanwhile they’ve not even scratched the surface. The ways of God are past finding out. Whatever knowledge you’re privy to today may be too basic tomorrow, you’d be ignorant to start a fight over something you don’t have full control. I’ve received superior dimensions of knowledge in many areas, but you’d never find me speaking against fathers. I communicate what I’ve found with meekness and fear to my followers, reverencing God and honoring fathers.
What this means is that the revelation you got from a scripture yesterday may have a far deeper interpretation today. So instead of assuming you already know it, humble yourself like Moses and ask the Lord to reveal His glory to you as you study. My greatest prayer point will remain “Lord, I want to know you. Teach me to know you and walk in your ways. Teach me how to give you the measure of glory you truly deserve”.
I wake up everyday with a vacuum that can only be filled by God. You may think I know God so much because of the depth of revelations I share, but the truth is, I really don’t know God. I want to know Him, I want to give Him the glory He truly deserves. If that has not happened, then I’ve not known Him enough. Daniel wasn’t joking when he said they that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.
As I conclude, don’t be comfortable with any spiritual level, no matter the authority you command. Also, don’t assume you have the finest revelation when it comes to scriptures, there are still secrets that God hasn’t revealed yet. Believe me, a time will come when government of nations will use the bible to run their countries. If that hasn’t happened, then we haven’t known God as we ought to.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
