PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING…
I was teaching one Saturday about how Believers should operate in the supernatural as a lifestyle, and suddenly I was led to ask the congregation a question that I honestly believed they’d all have recent answers to:
“When was the last time you did something supernatural?”
To my amazement, there was just one elderly woman who could respond to that question, and the experience she shared was something that happened decades ago. The youths among them didn’t even know if they’ve ever had a supernatural experience, they’ve lived a natural life all their life. They even tried to console themselves by saying the air they breathe is supernatural. Really?
Now I know why Jesus wept over Jerusalem. They were robbed and spoiled by the devil, yet none of them knew how to lay hold on the weapon that guaranteed that peace. Let’s see how the scripture puts it:
Luke 19:
41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it.
42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side.
44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
Just imagine that episode, Jesus was in their midst, yet they didn’t take advantage of His presence to stop the devil’s oppression. This isn’t different from the way many Christians manage the vicissitudes of life instead of enforcing a turnaround.
We’re painfully in a time and age where Christians would rather endure and nurture their situations than develop the faith required to be free. They’d endure their sickness, they’d endure their financial status, they’d endure their marital issues, they’d endure their barreness. The most annoying part is that they call their predicament “the will of God”.
No, no more! We must return to the supernatural. Just because your boss fired you doesn’t mean your progress in life was altered. Haven’t you read John 3:8? It says, “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit”. That’s right, the wind may be redirected but not restricted. And even if it is redirected, it has potential to prosper in any direction it goes. So why do you think that just because you lost a job you’ve lost your life? No! No way! You only changed direction.
Just because you lost a pregnancy doesn’t mean you can’t give birth. Just because you lost a major client doesn’t mean you can’t get a bigger one. Don’t let situations reduce your life to nothing when you possess something that can give you all things.
The day you received Jesus as Lord and Saviour, you also received the gene to operate in the supernatural. So if you don’t like any natural result, change it supernaturally. Don’t you get it? You have control over natural events.
Isaiah 8:18 wasn’t joking when it said, “Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion”. I’m for signs and wonders. I shouldn’t be wandering about like someone who doesn’t have control, I have ability to make a wonder out of every wander.
We need to put on our supernatural outfit again. Because truthfully, many of you have taken it off a long time ago. Don’t let situations and circumstances change your identity. Rather, change situations and circumstances with your identity. Your identity is superior to any situation.
Let’s get back to the supernatural life, a time is coming when you’d not be able to endure the wickedness in this world naturally. The bible says the world will burn like an oven. So it’s better you start practicing the supernatural now before that time comes, and trust me, it’s very near.
Let me show you 4 keys that will help you operate in the supernatural:
1. The name of Jesus
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Most of the time, the challenges that Believers encounter are sponsored by a demon. If you can disarm the demon, then you can easily come out of that challenge. Unfortunately, many Christians tackle the challenge blindly. They try to resolve the challenge without disarming the demon behind it. It’s why they remain in that situation for a long time.
That scripture says those who believe in Jesus will cast out devils in His name. So the next time you encounter a challenge that keeps escalating, cast out the demon behind it. Some Christians have limited this scripture to praying for demon-possessed people, they forget that situations can also be possessed by a demon.
Let’s always remember that the name of Jesus is above every other name. And at the mention of His name, every knee must bow, and every tongue must confess that He is Lord. Any situation that refuses to submit to the Lordship of Jesus has Him to contend with.
A lady shared a testimony on how her lecturer refused to release her result until she sleeps with him. She said all she did was call the name of Jesus over the lecturer’s name during her night prayer, and that was it. The man was looking for her all over the campus to release her result. Every thing or person that has a name must bow at the mention of the name of Jesus.
Your job is to mention the name, their obligation is to bow. That’s all!
2. The word of God
According to John chapter 1, all things were made by the Word of God and all things can also be unmade by it. So God’s word has capacity to both make and unmake things. If you see a situation you don’t like, all you have to do is unmake it by the Word.
If you want to do signs, then take the word in your hand. Exodus 4:17 says, “And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs”.
Signs and wonders will always follow the word you applied in faith. Mark 16:20 tells us that they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.
If you speak natural words, you’d get natural results. But if you speak supernatural words, you’d get supernatural results. God’s word is both Spirit and life, it can give new life to just anything.
3. Prayer
This one doesn’t require explanation
4. Faith declarations
The fight of faith is a battle of words and actions. Never let the devil have the last words during a word battle. Always be ready to reply the negative words and thoughts he throws at you, whether directly or through people. This is important for your justification. The negative word you don’t reverse will leave a negative remark in your life.
Acts 14:3 says, “Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands”. Did you see that? They were confronted in the previous verses, but instead of quitting, they spoke boldly for a longer time, and the result was that signs and wonders were done by their hands. Hallelujah!
Don’t ever forget Isaiah 43:26. It says, “…declare thou, that thou mayest be justified”. Your declaration over a situation justifies you from every thing that opposes the will of God over your life.
I know today’s article is really long, but I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
