“Pastor, life has been unfair to me and I doubt if there’s any way my life can be better. I was hoping you could say something to cheer me up”
I totally understand you, but what I’m about to share with you isn’t just going to cheer you up, it will create a message out of your mess. Ready?
Truthfully, life is not fair, and that’s why nobody is running a fair race, not even the government. You probably graduated with good grades in the university and hoped you’d get a job, but because of an unfair system of government, you’ve been jobless for 5 years. And the annoying part is that the cost of food keeps increasing. How will a person who doesn’t even have a job survive inflation?
Or perhaps you even had a job and got married, had two kids, and then lost the very job that kept your family running. That would have been okay if you got another job immediately, but no, it’s been 7 years and your family has gone from grace to grass. How do you explain this? Life is definitely not fair.
Because of the unfairness of life over time, human beings have developed strategies to manage crisis. That’s why you see people involve in all kinds of malevolent works to make ends meet. Some go into armed robbery, ritual killing, prostitution, gambling, fraud, slave trade and more.
While some of them experience momentary victories, if they don’t repent, their end is always destruction. Frankly speaking, most of them don’t care about the destruction, and that’s because they don’t know a better way to manage crisis or even be exempted from it.
You see, life without Christ has no infinite control over crisis. Let me show you a few scriptures:
SCRIPTURE 1:
Proverbs 16:
7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Imagine living in a world where your enemy is at peace with you. If you apply for a job, you’d get it if you merit it. If you apply for a visa, you’d get it. If you apply for school degree, you’d gain admission. Everything will be easy because your enemy who should be against you is at peace with you.
I just felt the nudging to pray for you as I was explaining that part. And I pray that beginning from this moment, those who have refused to grant you passage will be at peace with you! There will be no more struggle in your life! My God will make your enemies be at peace with you!
The journey to making your way please God begins by receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour. After that, begin to walk in His ways. As long as your ways please God continually, then always expect breakthroughs in every thing you do.
SCRIPTURE 2:
Psalm 23:
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
You see the word “enemies” being used again. But this time, it elucidates what it means for your enemy to be at peace with you. It means they’d let you eat without any fear of an attack. That’s truly peace.
Verse 6 continues by telling us that goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life. So no matter how unfair life becomes, what is following you would compel men to be fair with you.
SCRIPTURE 3:
John 14:
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Have you been told that there’s no way you can get a good job in this current economy? Have you been told that there is no way you can get married, start a business, go to school, have a child, or even raise a family? Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life”. In other words, even though they’ve confirmed that there is no way out for you, Jesus says you should consider their verdict as a lie; because He is The Truth, and as The Truth, He says there is a way, and there is life in the way.
Proverbs 3:6 tells us how to go through the way; it says, “In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths”. In other words, in all your ways, even where there seems to be no way, acknowledge Him, and He will direct you on which way to go.
So just when your landlord is about to kick you out, acknowledge God for the time you’ve stayed in that house or for even paying your first rent, and God will show you a way out of that mess. David didn’t need to be as strong as Goliath, he only acknowledged the God that gave him victory over wild beasts, and God gave him the head of Goliath.
God will not only create a way for you, He’d also create a life in the way. Just when you think that you can’t get something better than what the devil just stole from you, God will surprise you with something more. Who would have thought that Job will eventually have double of everything he lost?
Remember, anytime man says “there’s no way”, God says “I am the way”. All you have to do is to acknowledge Him, and He’d direct your path.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed, in Jesus precious name!
