TIMELY NOTES!

When you notice that one area of your life is not growing, then you need a mentor in that area. It’s impossible to have a single mentor or pastor who has a perfect solution to all your life’s challenges. Eli was Samuel’s mentor; he was spiritually sound, but he had a problem when it comes to raising children. His two sons were wayward. Samuel should have learnt from that mistake; and while he learns spirituality from Eli, he should have sought mentorship from someone else on how to raise a child. But unfortunately, his two sons also became wayward, they didn’t follow after his footsteps, just as the sons of Eli didn’t.

Some believers are too religious; they think it’s a sin to be wiser than their teachers or pastors. In Ps 119:98-99, David acknowledged that he had more insight than all his teachers. I blame teachers who only teach their students the things they can do and never mention the things they couldn’t. A true teacher should not withhold information; he should teach people what he knows and refer them to places or people who will teach them the ones he doesn’t know. I love my pastor, but there are many things he has not been able to help me understand. And instead of waiting or hoping that things will get better, I just have to look for a mentor who already has those qualities. It doesn’t mean he is no longer my pastor. In fact, a mentor can never take the place of a pastor.

That’s how far we’d go on today’s Timely Note. But take these last words; DON’T LET SENTIMENTS DENY YOU OF GROWTH. WHEN YOU SEE AN OPPORTUNITY TO GROW, TAKE IT! Have a most fruitful day, in Jesus precious name!

And hey, don’t forget to “like” it. And if you really like it, please share it!

P.S: Please don’t hesitate to drop your comments or questions. Questions will be responded to within 24-hours.
